Khao Kai Nui is in Tambol Tung Maphrao, Amphur Tai Muang, Phangnga. Most people associate the north of Thailand with misty mountains, but visitors who ascend Khao Kai Nui are often startled to witness a sea of mist, at a height of only 200 meters above sea level. Mist swirls between limestone cliffs and tropical mountain tops. The community of Kai Nui offers transportation up the mountain where there is also accommodation, and facilities for camping. The sunrise is the most spectacular time of the day to go and watch the sea of mist part to make way for the Andaman Sea beyond.
